2022 GMC Sierra to receive hands-free Super Cruise system

The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 will arrive this fall with an impressive array of new features including advanced technology. Although we don’t have all of the details about the 2022 GMC Sierra just yet, we do know that it will receive GM’s impressive hands-free Super Cruise system.

If you have never experienced the Super Cruise system, you are in for a treat. Super Cruise technology is a system designed to provide the driver with hands-free capability meaning that it can drive the vehicle for you and as long as you keep your attention focused forward, you don’t have to have your hands on the wheel. This system is therefore more advanced that traditional driver assistance systems.

As a matter of fact, the experts will tell you that GM’s Super Cruise is one of the most advanced autonomous driving features on the market and that it rival’s Tesla’s AutoPilot.

Super Cruise was the first true hands-free driver assistance system. It uses LiDAR generated map data to map out hundreds of thousands of kilometres of new roads all over North America. When on these roads, the Super Cruise system can take over for the driver, controlling steering and braking as well as accelerations while you have your hands on your lap.

In the 2022 GMC Sierra, Super Cruise will have the ability to drive the vehicle autonomously even when towing a trailer. This is a first for the Super Cruise system. The system also offers an automated lane change feature.

When you want to change lanes on the highway, all you must do is activate your turn signal and the system will change lanes for you. It’s very impressive, and we know that you will be impressed.

Super Cruise will be offered on the 2022 GMC Sierra. Contact us today to learn more!
