In other words, the study ranks the brands that deliver the best quality in the initial three months after purchase.
This year, over 80,000 new vehicle owners were surveyed. They were asked 223 questions in total related to various aspects of initial ownership. The goal of the study is to determine how many problems per 100 vehicles each brand had in the first three months of ownership. With just 132 problems per 100 vehicles, Buick certainly stood out.
The average for the industry was 180 problems per 100 vehicles, and according to J.D. Power, initial quality got worse this year.
