How to prepare your GMC vehicle this fall

Fall is the favorite season for many Canadian, but in the eyes of all, it is the season that sets the table for winter. It is also the time of year when you need to prepare your vehicle for the next season. Here are a few practical tips to guide you.

1 - Good winter tires

It's not enough to simply equip your vehicle with winter tires. They must be suitable for the vehicle and still be in good condition. Too many motorists drive around with winter tires that have been in their best years. Don't skimp on this and equip your vehicle with the best tires available. Also, beware of approved tires; nothing beats good tires specially designed for winter use.

2 - Tune-up

Winter is particularly difficult on many components of your vehicle. Consequently, a good tune-up is essential before winter. This tune-up, carried out by your GMC expert, will allow you to check the battery, belts, engine fluids, four-wheel drive system, etc. Don't let your vehicle get caught out by winter.

3 - To light truck owners

All of the measures recommended here apply, of course, to pickup truck owners, but there are two specific elements that affect their type of vehicle. First, consider taking a look at the mechanism that releases your spare tire under the bed. Applying grease may be beneficial to ensure that the system works properly when needed. Also, why not coat your body with a protective layer or provide it with a coating to preserve it?

4 - Windshield wipers

It is certainly one of the most neglected elements on vehicles, winter and summer. However, we are talking about two parts that are responsible for giving us good visibility when conditions deteriorate. As winter approaches, don't hesitate to replace your wipers with ones designed specifically for the cold season.
