This engine is the most powerful unit that can be found under the hood of the Canyon, but not the torquiest. That honor goes to the available 2.8L Duramax diesel four-cylinder, which generates 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft.

Combined with the automatic transmission and the available four-wheel drive system, these engines make the Canyon into a very competent vehicle both on and off the roads, with a tow rating that can be as high as 7,700 pounds with the diesel.
