Three Enhancements on the 2022 GMC Sierra

The GMC Sierra is the most competent pickup truck in its segment. This year, the GMC Sierra receives a number of enhancements for 2022 including two unique models and a series of new features that aim at keeping it ahead of the pack.

Here are three enhancements that you will find on the 2022 GMC Sierra.

Introducing the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate

The Sierra Denali Ultimate is now the crown jewel of the Sierra lineup. Building on the success of the upscale Denali sub-brand over the past two decades, GMC brings even more luxury in its full-size pickup truck with the Denali Ultimate trim.

But this version is also loaded with equipment. It comes standard with the semi-autonomous Super Cruise technology that features Trailering Assist so you can tow your load while driving hands-free.

GMC’s signature MultiPro tailgate and CarbonPro bed are also part of the package, along with a dark chrome finish for the grille and badges.

The GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate is powered by the 6.2-litre V8 engine delivering 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission.

The new GMC Sierra AT4X also boasts the 6.2-litre V8, but it adds additional On- and off-road capability thanks to the Canadian-designed and assembled Multimatic suspension featuring DSSV shocks.

It also features underbody skid plates to protect vital powertrain elements. Maximum payload and towing capacity are rated at 1,420 pounds and 8,900 pounds, respectively. This model also features one-pedal driving for off-road.

More turbocharged torque and new technologies on the 2022 GMC Sierra

Both the Denali Ultimate and AT4X models get a 13.4-inch infotainment display (that includes Google apps and services), driver-configurable 13.4-inch digital instrument cluster and 15-inch head-up display. They’re also equipped with a powerful Bose sound system that uses 12 speakers.

The shifter has been moved from the steering column to the centre console for easier access. Finally, the turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine gets increased torque at 420 lb-ft.
