What is General Motors Adaptive Air Ride Suspension?

General Motors is recognized for its advanced technologies. We only have to think of Teen Driver systems or the OnStar technology that revolutionized the industry. Another particularly interesting technology is Air Ride technology, an adaptive suspension system that allows the height of the vehicle to be adjusted in real time.


Available on the new GMC Yukon among others, the Air Ride system is controlled from a central air pump. This pump can send or withdraw air from the shock absorbers to raise or lower the vehicle.


This technology improves movement control and comfort. It can also facilitate handling and facilitate access on board as well. On the 2021 GMC Yukon, the adaptive Air Ride suspension can increase ground clearance by four inches which makes a big difference when it comes to passing over massive obstacles.
