If you take a look around the GMC lineup, you'll notice that every model is offered in a Denali trim, the most luxurious model in every GMC vehicle family.
Most know that Denali refers to the most opulent and best-equipped models GMC has to offer. But we still wanted to give you a more in-depth look at one of the most reputable nameplates in the industry.
GMC Denali Gives You More
Throughout the GMC range, there are vehicles belonging to different price ranges. For example, you can get your hands on a Canyon pickup truck for under $ 30,000 or a Yukon XL model for over $ 80,000. Although there is a significant difference between both models and the features they offer, both offer a top Denali trim that provides the most equipment in each model family.
Take the Canyon pickup truck for example. The latter come with a simple equipment list in its base version; 4-cylinder engine, 6-speed automatic transmission and electrically adjustable driver's seat. The entry-level model is designed specifically for job sites.
However, by moving to the Denali variant at the top of the pecking order, the vehicle is no longer the same. There is the eight-inch screen multimedia system, a V6 engine, 4x4 system, a crew cab configuration and various body lenghts. When it comes to luxury, a Bose sound system sits on board and the seats are heated and ventilated. In terms of capacity, it also benefits from a two-speed transfer case and towing package. In other words, the Denali version of the 2021 GMC Canyon offers everything the model it serves can receive.
If we move to the other end of the family, we find a model already well equipped with the Yukon. However, the Denali version offers more, starting with the most powerful engine in the family, a 6.2-liter V8 delivering 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. On board, occupants benefit from a noise cancellation system that makes the cabin quieter, perforated and ventilated leather seats (also heated) and a Bose audio system that is superior to all others offered elsewhere in the range. An entertainment system is even offered for the rear seats.
Aesthetically, we are also entitled to a richer presentation on the outside, especially with a more abundant use of chrome.
In short, if you want the most features and a lot of luxury in your GMC vehicle, Denali is the way to go.
As for the name, it was used by the natives to designate a mountain in Alaska. The latter became Mount McKinley with the possession of the territory by the Americans, but the name Denali has been preserved through the GMC lineup. It is the tallest mountain in North America and the name Denali loosely translated as "grandiose" in the language of the natives.
